Our Lighting Design Service

For more than 10 years we’ve specialised in designing energy-efficient lighting solutions for homes and businesses. And over this time we’ve worked on many different building types – from town houses to barn conversions and Eco-Homes, and from offices and factories to churches.

We can design stylish and decorative lighting schemes for an entire property, inside and out. Or we can help you with the lighting for just one or two rooms. We’re also happy to combine energy-efficient lighting with traditional tungsten lighting to achieve the effects you want.

As independent experts we’ll consider all the options, including lighting levels, overall energy use, and lighting control systems. We will also design (and make) bespoke fittings and products to solve particular lighting problems for our design service clients.

For residential property improvements, redecoration or refurbishments our service includes a site survey. For new construction or major rebuilds we’re happy to work from architect’s plans.

• What the Lighting Design Service includes

At the outset we’ll discuss your project with you, particularly your requirements for lighting levels, accent lighting, overall energy use, energy efficiency, lighting control systems and budgets.

We provide:

A detailed plan to achieve the desired lighting effects.

Technical calculations to ensure target lux levels are met.

A selection of suggested light fittings with appropriate wattage lamps/bulbs.

A lighting layout for your electrical contractor to work from – clearly marked onto a floorplan or architect’s plans.

Summary specifications of all the switching, lighting controls and light fittings you’ll need, which you can then use as procurement lists.

Itemised costs and a total budget for your scheme.

We’ll submit our draft proposals to you for discussion, together with illustrations of all the lights we’ve specified. If you have any amendments, we’ll incorporate these before the scheme is finalised.

We’re happy to procure all the necessary lighting equipment for your scheme; our independence gives you access to maximum choice, thereby saving you time and hassle. We’re also pleased to advise and support your electrician(s) during installation.
