Lighting Design Projects

Lampholder specialises in energy-efficient lighting for domestic and residential properties. And whether you are looking to light just one room, or every room in your property, we can help.

Overview

As an independent specialist, our Lighting Design Service considers all the options available to create stylish and decorative lighting schemes. We will advise on energy-efficient lighting options and we are happy to combine energy-efficient lighting with traditional tungsten lighting to achieve whatever effects you want.

At the outset we will discuss your project with you, particularly your requirements for lighting levels, overall energy use, energy efficiency, lighting control systems and budgets.

For residential property improvements, redecoration or refurbishments our service includes a site survey. For new construction or major rebuilds we will work from architect’s plans.

What the Lighting Design Service includes

  • A technical calculation of lighting requirements to ensure adequate light is achieved
  • A detailed plan to help you obtain the desired lighting effects – accent lighting etc.
  • Selection of light fittings with appropriate wattage lamps/bulbs
  • A lighting layout for your electrical contractor to work from – clearly marked onto a floorplan or architect’s plans
  • Summary specifications of all the switching, lighting controls and light fittings that you will need, and which you can use as procurement lists
  • A list of itemised costs and a total budget for the scheme
  • Procurement of lighting equipment (optional), to save you time and hassle
  • Installation advice for your electrician(s) (if required)

Added extras:

We will submit our draft proposals for your lighting scheme to you for discussion, with illustrations of all the lights we have specified. If you have any amendments, we will incorporate these before the scheme is finalised.

During installation, your electrician(s) are welcome to contact Lampholder for advice and explanation of light fittings, lamps, switching or the lighting plans.
